GAMIFICATION IN TEACHING THE UKRAINIAN LANGUAGE (FOR PROFESSIONAL PURPOSES) FOR ECONOMIC SPECIALITIES

Abstract

The study considers gamification as an innovative and effective method of teaching the Ukrainian language for professional purposes to students specializing in economics. The article explores various theoretical approaches to integrating gamification elements into the educational process, emphasizing their impact on the development of professional language competences. It highlights how gamification can enhance the learning experience, improve the retention of specialized vocabulary, and foster the application of language skills in real-world economic contexts. In addition to reviewing contemporary scientific research, the study presents a comprehensive analysis of practical experience in implementing game-based methods into the curricula of higher education institutions. The findings suggest that gamification significantly boosts students' motivation, enhances cognitive engagement, cultivates communication skills, and promotes deeper understanding and retention of professional terminology. This ultimately contributes to the formation of key professional competences needed in the field of economics. The study offers detailed methodological recommendations for integrating digital platforms, role-playing games, case studies, and other interactive technologies into the learning process. These strategies not only enhance the effectiveness of teaching but also promote student-centered learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving, crucial for the development of future professionals. The article further investigates the impact of various gamification strategies on students' academic performance, noting that these tools help increase student engagement and facilitate a more dynamic learning environment. Additionally, the study discusses the importance of aligning gamification methods with the evolving demands of the labor market, ensuring that the educational process is adaptable and prepares students for the competitive challenges they will face in their professional careers. Future research directions are suggested, particularly focusing on the development of adaptive, personalized digital learning platforms that consider individual student characteristics and needs. The study also stresses the need for ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of different gamification models in teaching the Ukrainian language for professional purposes and their seamless integration into higher education curricula.
