DIRECTIONS OF INNOVATIVE ACTIVITY OF FOOD INDUSTRY ENTERPRISES OF UKRAINE IN WAR CONDITIONS

Abstract

Innovations are an important component of the activities of a modern enterprise. They allow not only to reduce costs, update the assortment and automate production, but also contribute to increasing the competitiveness of enterprises and products. The article analyzes the number of domestic innovatively active enterprises during 2021-2024. It is shown that during 2021 - 2024, the number of enterprises that implemented innovations increased - from 292 to 597 units (their share in the total number of industrial enterprises more than doubled - from 6.2 to 15.5%). The volume of innovative products sold was analyzed. It was shown that the volume of innovative products sold increased by 3.8 times (from UAH 36.8 billion in 2021 to UAH 138.7 billion in 2024), and its share in the total volume of industrial products sold increased from 0.9 to 3%. The dynamics of the number of innovatively active enterprises in the food industry are considered. It is shown that the number of innovatively active enterprises in the production of food products has increased from 83 units in 2021 to 172 units in 2024, and their share in the total number of enterprises in the industry has more than doubled (from 9.6 to 22.7%). Promising directions for the development of innovative products and requirements for them are highlighted. According to the needs of the Defense Forces, innovative products must meet the requirements: the possibility of long-term storage, ease of use, increased calorie content and nutritional value. A promising direction of innovation in the food industry is the use of alternative protein sources (plant protein), the development and production of hybrid proteins. The article examines the features of the implementation of technological innovations; innovations aimed at environmental friendliness and resource efficiency of production, as well as innovations that change production and management methods, and labor organization. The main internal obstacles to the development of innovations in modern conditions in Ukraine are analyzed. Measures that can improve the level of implementation of Ukrainian technologies and scientific developments in the real sector of the economy are shown.
