Abstract

Personnel development is no less important for a company's human resources and economic security than financial motivation. That is why HR marketing strategies of socially responsible businesses are aimed at harmonising the personal and professional growth of employees, stimulating their learning, self-development, professional development, and self-realisation in all areas of life. In this respect, management is very similar to pedagogy, as it experiments with various educational approaches, systems and technologies. The division of skills into soft skills and hard skills appeared thanks to the efforts of educators, but it flourished thanks to the interest of commercial structures, and returned to educational institutions thanks to the broad interest of the active public. In this respect, the public sector and business go hand in hand, setting new trends and priorities for each other. No exception is the more modern view of the basic competencies of a successful person, which are known as meta skills or ‘subtle skills’, which determine a person's propensity to absorb new information, affecting their adaptability in the face of rapid changes. Meta skills include a variety of skills that can be divided into four broad categories: self-management, innovation, social intelligence, and competitiveness in the labour market. Each of them has its own components, but most importantly, they are all trainable. This publication presents an original approach to the classification of meta skills that combines the best European practices and effective methods of their development among adults and young people, worked out during trainings, lectures, workshops and mentoring. The author analyses the audience's interest in learning meta skills, the motivation of young people and adults, argues for the sequence of learning in the direction of self-management, innovation, social intelligence, employability, and proposes a learning algorithm.
