DEVELOPMENT OF THE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCT PROCESSING SECTOR IN UKRAINE
Abstract
The article examines the main problems and prospects for the development of the agricultural processing sector in Ukraine, in the complex structure of which the largest share in terms of the volume of industrial products sold is occupied by food production. The development and deepening of domestic processing of agricultural raw materials and the production of finished products contributes to import substitution and saturation of the market with domestic goods, which is especially relevant for Ukraine in the context of post-war economic development. Negative factors that hinder the development of the industry are systematized, in particular the need to attract significant investment resources, innovative updating of technological processes, increasing competitiveness in terms of quality and price, attracting qualified personnel. The dynamics and cost structure of food production are studied, in which the largest share is occupied by oil and animal fats, meat and meat products, and dairy products. Negative factors that hinder the development of the industry are systematized, in particular the need to attract significant investment resources, innovative updating of technological processes, increasing competitiveness in terms of quality and price, attracting qualified personnel. The dynamics and cost structure of food production are studied, in which the largest share is occupied by oil and animal fats, meat and meat products, and dairy products. The strategic importance of the processing sector is due to the fact that it will ensure the balanced development of the main agricultural industries, and the identification of effective ways for the further development of the agricultural processing sector in Ukraine will allow to substantiate the optimal decisions of the government, farmers, business and other stakeholders. Processing and production of finished products by agricultural enterprises, subject to sound planning and preliminary market analysis, can become stable sources of additional income and profit.
