IMPACT OF DIGITALIZATION ON INCOME OF THE BANKING SECTOR OF UKRAINE
Abstract
The modern stage of development of social life is accompanied by digitization. The digital transformation of banking is manifested in the improvement of banking business models, services, products and methods of interaction with clients using digital technologies, which leads to increased profits. The article is devoted to the analysis of the impact of digitization processes in the banking sector of Ukraine on the volume of its revenues. The research used methods of statistical and factor analysis during the analysis of the banking sector's income, using mathematical modeling methods to forecast commission income of the banking system of Ukraine for the future. An abstract-logical method is used for theoretical generalizations of the impact of digitization on banks' incomes and the formation of conclusions. The latest technologies make it possible for banks to provide a variety of traditional and non-traditional services with the aim of increasing commission income. The dynamics of the income of the banking system of Ukraine for the years 2015–2023 were studied, the tendency of the gradual growth of commission income of banks was determined. It is emphasized that the increase in commission income of the banking sector was carried out at the expense of the growth of digitalization of processes in banks, which makes it possible to automate a number of operations and this increases their profitability. The dynamics and structure of commission income for a number of years at CB "Privatbank" JSC were considered. The annual growth of the commission income of JSC CB "Privatbank" from non-traditional banking operations was revealed, namely, the share of income from international payment systems and the share of income from acquiring increased; substantial incomes from transfers, payments, and current accounts appeared. Forecasting of the amount of commission income of the banking system for the near future has been carried out. It is claimed that the growth of commission income is possible thanks to the further gradual digitalization of banks' activities. The results of the study can be used in the organization of customer service by Ukrainian banks.
