DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF ADAPTIVE PROJECT MANAGEMENT AT CONSTRUCTION ENTERPRISES
Abstract
The article examines the digital transformation of adaptive project management at construction enterprises under conditions of increasing project complexity, market volatility, and uncertainty of the external environment. Modern construction projects are characterized by a high level of organizational, technological, and resource interdependence, which significantly limits the effectiveness of traditional waterfall project management models. In this context, the study substantiates the necessity of transitioning to adaptive management approaches based on the integration of Agile and Lean methodologies with advanced digital technologies. The research identifies key challenges affecting the successful implementation of construction projects, including inefficient communication among stakeholders, inadequate resource planning, insufficient control over project execution, risk escalation, and weak coordination between contractors and suppliers. Special attention is paid to the role of digital tools - such as project management platforms, BIM technologies, cloud-based collaboration systems, and business intelligence solutions - in enhancing transparency, flexibility, and real-time decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. A conceptual model of an adaptive project management system for construction enterprises is proposed. This system integrates a project management office, digital work environments, knowledge management platforms, and feedback mechanisms aimed at continuous monitoring, change management, and organizational learning. The study emphasizes the importance of systematic feedback as a core element of adaptive management, enabling timely identification of deviations, coordinated corrective actions, and accumulation of project knowledge for future initiatives. The findings demonstrate that the digitalization of adaptive project management significantly improves resource utilization efficiency, reduces project risks, enhances team coordination, and supports strategic alignment between project activities and organizational objectives. The integration of Agile and Lean principles with digital platforms allows construction enterprises to increase productivity, ensure sustainable project performance, and strengthen their competitiveness in a dynamic and unstable economic environment.
