TRANSFORMATION OF PERSONAL MEANINGS IN THE CONTEXT OF WAR AMONG STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF ECONOMICS
Abstract
This article presents an in-depth interdisciplinary analysis of the dynamics and structural reconfiguration of personal life meanings (senses) among students studying at a faculty of economics, against the backdrop of prolonged and intense military conflict. The central focus of the study is the phenomenon of a crisis of meaning (existential vacuum) arising from the destruction of basic illusions of security and predictability, and the subsequent mechanisms of meaningful reconstruction and reframing of an individual’s worldview. The theoretical basis of the work is an integrative paradigm that synthesises logotherapeutic principles and concepts of the individual’s lifeworld. War is viewed as a catalyst for a profound axiological revision, which brings about a hierarchical shift in young people’s value orientations: from the dominance of instrumental-pragmatic categories (career, financial stability) to existential-humanistic priorities (freedom, solidarity, collective resilience). The study demonstrates that such a transformation activates coping resources and promotes post-traumatic growth. Consequently, psychological and educational strategies are proposed to support the process of meaning-making in conditions of traumatic uncertainty.
