METHODOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF RESEARCH AND FORECASTING OF TOURIST FLOWS GEOSPATIAL DIFFERENTIATION
Abstract
The article deals with theoretical and methodological aspects of geospatial differentiation tourism research and forecasting. Tourism is intensively developing and plays an increasingly prominent role in everyday life in modern society and the global economy. Socio-economic transformations of the last decade have changed the factors determining the development of tourism and its territorial organization. There is a need to revise traditional concepts of tourism geography. In particular, those, the essence of which is based on the study of individual territories: places of destination or origin of tourists; their structure, composition, and management. In the first case, we are talking about the recreational geographical space of V. Preobrazhensky as an environment where natural, cultural, and historical resources and tourist infrastructure are territorially concentrated to carry out tourist and recreational activities. In the second case - the tourist space of J. Misek as a place of demand formation for travel to peripheral areas. Modern mobility is becoming the basis of social life and cultural identity in the 21st century. Therefore, studying spatial patterns and features of human behavior in the tourist mode becomes a priority. In particular, such opportunities are revealed by the concepts of behavioral geography, which consider tourism from the person side, through its lifelines, aggregated into tourist flows. The analysis of multidimensional geographical space as a medium for the spread of tourist flows allows us to understand the geographical nature of tourism as a form of population migration. This perspective enhances our ability to identify the factors that contribute to the spatial differentiation of tourist flows, particularly in light of significant changes in modern lifestyle. The authors have identified methodological approaches relevant to new realities in post-pandemic tourism. In particular, the role of geoinformation technologies, BIG Data, and artificial intelligence in the study of spatial disproportions of tourist flows and their optimization is revealed.
