GEO-SPATIAL ASPECTS AND DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY OF TOURISM BUSINESS IN THE SOUTHERN TERRITORIES OF UKRAINE IN THE POST-WAR PERIOD

Abstract

Tourism industry in Kherson region is a strategic direction of the development of the southern territories. The development strategy of tourism business in the southern part of Ukraine, where tourism in all its aspects is considered to be one of the priority directions of economic development, will become the first step in implementation of new approaches to the development of the country after the war; creation of a favorable environment for the development of small- and medium-sized businesses; support for the processes of decentralization and an integral plan for development at the local, regional and national levels. Interest in tourism industry in this region is explained by a number of specific characteristics of the territory which is a unique natural complex belonging to ecologically clean territories. Implementation of the strategy of tourism industry development will ensure employment of the local population, create additional jobs, increase the number of visitors at hotels, restaurants, facilitate organization of animation events, creation of favorable conditions for attracting foreign investments etc. The purpose of the article is to examine prospects of the strategy of sustainable development of tourism business as a component of ecological-economic and socio-cultural environments of the geo-torial system of the South of Ukraine under conditions of crisis phenomena, caused by the COVID -19 pandemic and the martial law. At the current level of global economic development, even under crisis, caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the war started against Ukraine by Russia, there is confidence that tourism is a powerful industry and a source of enriching the state and local budgets, a means of commonly affordable lounge and recreation for the population. The potential of tourism industry in the southern territories of Ukraine has not been revealed thoroughly, since there are some problems related to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, and also there is a lack of appropriate governmental support in the area of tourism.
