TRANSFORMATION OF THE EU INTERNAL MARKET UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF THE GREEN DEAL: TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
The article examines the process of transformation of the European Union's internal market in the context of implementation of the European Green Deal strategic initiative, which is considered as a tool for shaping a new paradigm of sustainable development. The purpose of the study is to analyse the structural changes in the EU internal market as a result of the implementation of climate neutrality goals. The methodological basis of the study is the systemic, comparative, and structural-functional approaches, which allowed the author to identify the key vectors of transformation of the EU market architecture. As a result, it is established that the green transformation covers not only the energy and industrial sectors, but also the financial, logistics and institutional spheres. The practical value of the article lies in outlining the possibilities for adapting national economies to the new regulatory, infrastructural and investment conditions of the European space. The purpose of the article is to provide an analytical assessment of the structural changes taking place in the EU internal market under the influence of environmental transformation, with a focus on the challenges and opportunities faced by the Member States. The paper applies systemic, comparative, institutional, and structural-functional research methods, which allowed us to identify key areas of change in such areas as energy, industry, trade, transport, digitalisation, regulatory policy, and financial instruments. The study found that the green transformation is gradually changing the logic of the EU's internal market: from the classical growth model to an innovative, resource-efficient and climate-oriented one. The practical value of the paper lies in the formulation of proposals for adapting the policies of partner countries to the new regulatory environment and strengthening participation in green integration. The results obtained can be used in the process of developing strategies for the transition to sustainable development at the national and regional levels.
